Don't have idols

Don’t seek idols, have inspiration and pick what you like from other people. There is likely no person you like the complete package. So laziness to just take the negative parts, create the positive parts for yourself. Everyone suffering

In a sense that you thinking like "I want to be that person" is not really self-worthy talk and putting yourself in a good light/how you should talk about yourself and your own potential.

What often gets missed is the flaws and struggles of a person. You might only see them in the spotlight or when they are doing what they are good in, but you don't know the whole person. Either from what genuine weaknesses they have or from the other side, how shitty they behave towards XYZ/have bad values.

Even if that is not the case, be happy for them, there is no concept of unfairness. Everyone is played a hand and it's on you to make the most of yours. Luck will play a role, you also make your own luck, people will help you either actively or by not being nice to show you what you don't like.

And for sure, there will be people who inspire you and you should find inspiration in people. However, don't idealize them as non-plus ultra. Figure out what inspires you from a person and pick what you want from different people. From one person you might want their manners, others their easy going attitude, from others their kindness, from others their eagerness and ambition, ...

Create your own best version, pick the parts you like and in what balance they work for you and become that person. Obviously, this will change over time, many times, your values might not change completely, but in what balance they live together or you will be able to live up to them in the moment will change.
